How does it help me?

It saves you time from having to ask for status updates. By getting everything written down, it increases accountability and keeps the whole team on the same page.

Progress Updates is a simple way to automate team status updates on a regular basis. Your team gets the check-in questions and can update you without having to schedule a meeting with you.

People share their updates, and the summary is viewable to everyone

Your team members will appreciate starting their day/week seeing everyone else’s accomplishments and goals, and ending it with sharing their own.

Because everything is written down, and you are collecting all the answers online, you can read up on all the replies at your own time. There is no micromanagement. The focus is only on getting your team members to share updates to your prompts regularly.

Why am I building this?

Hey there— I'm Arjun, and I built Progress Updates because I was tired of having my best work interrupted by status meetings.

You know how it goes. You're deep in the zone, writing code, solving problems, when suddenly your calendar reminder pops up: "Daily Standup in 15 minutes." Your flow state shatters. You context switch. And for what? To wait for everyone to join the Zoom call, to listen to updates that could have been written down, to watch the minutes tick by as a 15-minute meeting stretches into 30.

I lived this reality at my previous job. We had team members spread across time zones, which meant someone was always taking a meeting at an awkward hour. Sometimes I'd be right in the middle of solving a complex problem at 11:30 AM when I'd have to stop everything to report on my progress. It was maddening.

But then I experienced something different. At my next job, we tried something radical: no synchronous status meetings. Instead, we'd write our updates three times a week, whenever it made sense in our day. The founder would read them when it worked for her. Nobody's flow got interrupted. Nobody had to wake up at 6 AM to accommodate another time zone.

The surprising thing? Our team communication actually improved. Writing updates made me more thoughtful about my work. I could take time to properly explain complex problems. Team members could read and respond when they were ready to focus on it. And we had a searchable record of our progress and decisions.

That's why I built Progress Updates. It's a simple tool that automates these check-ins. You set the questions you want to ask and how often you want to ask them. Your team responds when it makes sense in their day. No apps to install, no passwords to remember, no meetings to schedule.

Just clear, thoughtful communication that respects everyone's time and focus.

If you've ever felt that there must be a better way to keep your team aligned without constant meetings, you're right. There is. And I built it for teams like yours.

Would love to hear what you think.
